Concept

flat pack art to.... is an artistic exchange between different countries that address the artists need for new ways of exhibiting and exporting artworks in the current economic climate. flat pack art to.... proposes to the artists involved to create a series of new artworks with the requisite that can be folded in a flat pack to be sent abroad. The idea of the exchange is to connect contemporary artists and curators from Europe and exhibit newly commissioned work from the artists involved.

flat pack art to.... was initiated by Elizabeth AroCristina Ghetti and Ima Picó, after the success of two similar projects, universal shipping box, an artists exchange that exhibited new artworks in three different countries that fitted into a universally sized ‘pizza’ box and un---fold, a low cost artists exchange that proposed to create a series of new artworks with the requisite that could be folded in an A4 envelope.

Project partners:

Big Bang is a non-profit making organization that started in 2010 with the aims of diffusing contemporary art, especially amongst the younger generations and preserving cultural heritage such as artistic and intellectual production. This is achieved through artistic exchanges and promotion activities at the national and international level that enable to include the territory in which the association operates into a broader cultural horizon.

black duck is an organisation based in Manchester that undertakes international curatorial projects to promote the work of contemporary artists working in performance, installation, digital media and video.

Red Nomade is an international cooperation project interested in the exchange of contemporary artists and intellectuals. The collective aim is to generate artistic, cultural and academic events in different cities in order to facilitate the meeting of visual artists, art critics, curators, writers and intellectuals.

Kalpany in Sinhalese means Fantasy. After a trip to Sri Lanka Domenico Galeotti, always fond of contemporary art, chose this name to create in Milan the first exclusively home for ROJO®, a global network that has more than 1,000 artists from the international scene.
In March 2008 opened ROJO® artspace Milano, a minimal and multifunctional space overlooking Via Tortona. ROJO® artspace Milano was immediately distinguished by the originality of its program and exhibitions, which attracted a diverse audience of art lovers, connoisseurs and also many newbies curious about their exhibitions and events.
In October 2011 ROJO® artspace Milano moved to a bigger and renewed space located at the facilities of Refrigerators Milanesi, addressing the need to create a meeting place dedicated to art and culture in Milan.
Kalpany, which relies on a team of specialists in the field of art and communication, is a reality ready to create synergies and partnerships with public and private entities.

.Aurora is an autonomous art-space created and managed by 5 artists (Bel Falleiros, Diogo Lucato, Francesco Di Tillo, Gabriel Gutierrez and Laura Davina) and an architect (Claudia Afonso). Situated in an office building in São Paulo’s city center .Aurora works as a studio for these artists and as an exhibition space.

Much as the force of gravity – impossible to see, yet uniting the galaxies – the pregnant power of dialogue and interaction in the studio constitutes the identity, or dark matter, of . Aurora.

This process of exchange resignifies the space beyond the expository. The experimentation can take place on various levels: in the work of each artist, in expositions, in publications and the way through which the space sustains itself. In connection with other collaborators and other “points” in space, . Aurora proposes to open a new place for frontiers of expression, a starting point
